New Cricket Pavilion and Pitch

Cricket Pavilion

Before Dandara begun building houses at their new development on Aston Road, the Parish Council agreed with Dandara to take ownership of the new development's public open spaces once the site's construction had been completed. We would assume responsibility for these spaces after Dandara completed 2-years of post-completion maintenance, subject to an inspection by the Parish Council. This was agreed at the Parish Council’s request to avoid new residents being charged maintenance fees for a residents management company (who would maintain the open spaces).

The land being transferred to the Parish Council was agreed to be completed in 4 phases.

The Parish Council is delighted that phase 3 of the land transfer has now been completed, meaning work on the new cricket Pavilion will begin on Monday 28th September 2026, running until June 2027 - certain paths will be fenced off during the construction period.

This exciting new building is being constructed with sustainability at its heart. The new Pavilion will incorporate a range of green technologies, including solar tiles, enhanced insulation, a ground-source heat pump and rainwater harvesting.

Once completed, the building will provide another valuable community facility for the village, offering a modern, sustainable space for residents to enjoy and use for years to come.

New Cricket Pitch

The new Cricket Pitch will be transferred to the Parish Council during phase 4 of the land transfer, the final phase.

There has been some delays to the transfer of this land. Notably, the location where the cricket pitch now sits was originally where the Dandara Site Office and Pound were located, so for initial landscaping to take place, the house building had to be complete and site fully cleared. Once ready, Dandara hired a specialist contractor to layout the new cricket pitch. This work was completed in Spring 2025, but for the grass to establish itself, a further 2/3 years of maintenance is required. Haddenham Cricket Club have been helping out with the watering of the cricket square, but a water leak during the recent drought hampered progress and could potentially delay the process further.
