Partnership Organisations

Haddenham Community Library

The Parish Council recognises the importance of the library to Haddenham. The Parish Council is pleased to support this community facility and has provided grants to the Library for various initiatives over the years.

Playing Field Management Committee & Sports and Social Club Committee

These committees work in association with the Parish Council to maintain and operate the Pavilion at Woodways. This working in partnership promotes the use of the playing fields and tennis courts and supports a busy Sports and Social Club.

Haddenham Village Hall Management Committee

The Village Hall is situated at Banks Park and is the hub of the Village! Home to dancing, badminton, art, bowling - to name but a few. The Parish Council's office is part of the building along with meeting rooms and a dining area. As lease holders of the Parish Office and the sole Trustee of the Bank Parks Trust (which owns all the buildings on the site) the Council has two representatives on this committee.

Haddenham Parochial Charities

Responsibility for the three Haddenham Parochial Charities was taken over from the Parish Church authorities when parish councils were instituted in 1894. The original charities were set up to support the poor of the parish by providing bread and coal at Christmas and corn seed on Good Friday. The income comes from investments and through ownership of the land at Townside which is used for allotments. The Parish Council leases the allotment site and pays an annual rent.

In modern times, the operation of the charity has changed and the trustees use the income of the charities to make grants to individuals in need of charitable relief in December and to organisations catering for residents in need of charitable relief at any time of year. Applications can be made by contacting the trustees:

Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust

Two great days out not to be missed, each with a different feel. Summerfest is held on the 1st Saturday of July (Tibb’s Road recreation ground, 12-8pm) and Winterfest is held on the 2nd Saturday of December (Church End, 12-6pm). Whilst many still refer to them as beer festivals, they are about much more than the great selection of ale on offer.

Summerfest is a 4-festivals-in-a-day event these days – beer (& other drinks), music, street food & a dedicated family zone – there is something for everyone! Winterfest is like the village Christmas party and social occasion, predominantly a beer festival but with other drinks and acoustic music thrown into the mix. Any enquiries regarding the events should be directed to Kirsty Towersey on kirstybeerfest@gmail.com.

The profit made from both these events is used by the charity trustees to make grants to local organisations and charities that serve Haddenham and the surrounding communities. Since 2004 over £360k has been given out in grants. Grant applications are welcomed via the Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust website.

Haddenham Village Fete

The Haddenham Village Fete is held annually on the 2nd Saturday in June. It takes place around Church End and Flint Street and is a lovely whole community event, with fun and games for all generations. Regular attractions include a Classic Cars Display at Manor Farm, Open Gardens around Church End and Flint Street, the Beer and Pimms Tent, and music provided by local groups. The proceeds from the fete are donated to local organisations.
