What does this mean?

A new councillor vacancy has opened up following the resignation of Councillor George Millo. 
The procedure for filling this vacancy can go two ways:

1) If 10 Haddenham residents contact Buckinghamshire Council requesting for an election to take place by 29th May 2026, candidates will be gathered and a vote will occur in the near future. If you wish for this procedure, please send your name, address, and signature to: elections@buckinghamshire.gov.uk OR via post to Returning Officer, Buckinghamshire Council, The Gateway, Gatehouse Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP19 8FF.

2) If fewer than 10 requests are sent, the vacancy will be filled by co-option. This would mean that instead of a public vote, Haddenham Parish Councillors will review potential candidates in a meeting and choose who they deem the best fit.
