Passing of Steve Sharp
Published: 31 March 2025
Everyone at Haddenham Parish Council was very saddened to hear the news of the death of former Parish Councillor Steve Sharp who served on the Parish Council from May 2011 until July 2023. Our condolences go to his wife Janet and their two children and four grandchildren. Steve and Janet have lived in Haddenham since 1984 and have both been active members of the community. Steve was one of the founding trustees of Haddenham Community Library, saving the local library service when Bucks County Council threatened the closure of the library, he was the Chair of trustees from its establishment in 2011 until 2019.
A keen historian Steve was a trustee of Haddenham Museum and took on the role of editor of The Haddenham Chronicles, he had many tales to tell of Haddenham’s rich history which are recorded in The Chronicles. In his role as Parish Councillor Steve not only represented the Community Library, he also represented the Parish Council on the Neighbourhood Plan, Village Hall, Scout and Guide Association and Fete committees. Steve also stepped up to join the Parochial Charities trustees when we were struggling to find new trustees to keep the charities running, and remained a trustee.
