Airfield Memorial Unveiled!
Published: 26 July 2023
It was great to see so many people at the unveiling of the memorial commemorating the history of Thame (Haddenham) Airfield by the
Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust (ABCT) on Saturday.
The airfield was in operation between 1941 and 2018. Initially used for military glider training, later wartime use included aircraft ferry pilot training. In peacetime, the airfield saw significant civil general aviation use until the Upward Bound Trust gliding organisation began operations in the 1960s.
The memorial has been installed at the new Airfield Pavilion on Tibbs Road.
