Haddenham Emergency Response

URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR UKRAINE

The Parish Council like the rest of the world has been shocked and saddened by the news coming from Ukraine.

The community of Haddenham has responded to help, and are collecting urgently needed essentials for the Great Britain Humanitarian Action organised by the Eastern European Community living here in Britain.

Their families who are living in Poland and other neighbouring countries, many of whom live very close to the Ukrainian border, are seeing first-hand the chaos of people escaping to safety, many of these refugees are women and children, and they have left everything behind. People in Poland, Romania, Moldova and other parts of Europe are doing everything they can to help the refugees. They are offering them food and shelter and taking them into their homes. The latest estimation from the UN put the number of people who have left Ukraine so far to 150,000.

The residents of Haddenham can help by sending urgently needed supplies. Everything collected will be driven from the UK straight to the Ukraine, or to the Polish-Ukrainian border, or directly to Kiev.

There has been a collection point set up here in Haddenham at ECOPURE WATERS, 9 Alexander House, Thame Road, Haddenham HP17 8BZ
