New coronavirus testing site

Published: 29 October 2020

A new coronavirus testing site has been set up at Buckinghamshire Council’s Gateway building car park in Aylesbury – where it is planned to remain for the foreseeable future.

This site is available for pre-booked appointments only by anyone with coronavirus symptoms – it is NOT a ‘drop-in’ site.

As cases are rising, even those with mild symptoms are being encouraged to arrange a test to help stop the spread of the virus.

Symptoms include:
• a high temperature;
• a new, continuous cough;
• a loss or change to sense of smell or taste.

Anyone with one or more of these symptoms should book a test at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

Anyone attending an appointment at the walk-through site will be given guidance on getting to and from the test site safely, with extra support for vulnerable groups and people with disabilities.

The site is accessible on foot and bicycle. Bucks Council is encouraging people using the site to use these methods and not to drive, where possible. You SHOULD NOT use public transport to attend.

Full guidance for households with possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection is available on the government website - https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
