Defibrillator Installed at Airfield Pavilion

Published: 25 January 2024

Working together with Heartbeat Haddenham, the Parish Council has installed a defibrillator at the Airfield pavilion on Tibbs Road.

This brings the total number of defibrillators in Haddenham to 11.

Knowing where they are located may help safe a life in an emergency. The British Heart Foundation's website contains a handy map showing the locations of defibrillators in the village, whether they are publicly accessible and the hours they are available. Please note that at the time of writing the Tibbs Road defibrillator isn't yet showing on the map. It is hoped that this will be updated very shortly.

What are defibrillators?

Defibrillators or AEDs (automated external defibrillator) are medical devices that can give a casualty’s heart an electric shock when it has stopped beating normally to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

Defibrillators can be used on adults or children over one year old and can help save a life during a cardiac event.

Anyone can use a defibrillator. You do not need training. Once you turn it on, it will give clear step-by-step voice instructions. See British Heart Foundation's website for more information on how to use a defibrillator.
