Play Areas

The Parish Council owns and maintains four playgrounds and a BMX track around the parish. The Council is fully committed to improving the play provision throughout the village and completed refurbishments to Woodways playground in 2021 and Banks Parka and Sheerstock playgrounds in 2019. The Parish Council has recently adopted Aspen Park Playground from the Cala Homes Airfield and is committed to adopt the play areas in the new housing development at the Dandara Glebe site (off Stanbridge Road). 

Located at the former airfield off Tibbs Road, the Parish Council took over responsibility for this playground in Spring 2021. The playground features a wide range of equipment, including some more exciting and challenging pieces such as the mega-swing!

This playground is located next to the Scout and Guide Hut at Banks Park. The old playground was very limited with little play value. The Parish Council carried out a significant refurbishment at the beginning of 2019 and we are delighted with the results. This new playground has lots of new exciting equipment to play on and is designed for under 12 years. We very pleased to get the ‘thumbs up’ from our younger parishioners.

Sheerstock Playground is situated by the railway line behind the houses of Sheerstock. We were delighted to completely refurbish this recreation area in July 2019.  The new equipment has lots of exciting play equipment such as swings, roundabout, trampoline and multi-play units designed for children up to 14.  There is also a sports area with a ball wall and table tennis table, which is for the use of all ages. 

This playground can be found in Woodways Recreation Ground next to the tennis courts.

A complete refurbishment was carried out in 2021 as the previous wooden equipment was showing signs of wear. Prior to work, the Parish Council carried out a survey to find out what users would like to see and as a result the playground features a central fort, more accessible equipment, and an improved ball area for football, basketball and netball.   

The Parish Council is delighted to be providing this rare and exciting facility in Haddenham. It is the only facility of its kind for miles around. The track was installed a number of years ago but hadn’t been regularly maintained. With the support of parishioners, the Parish Council completely refurbished this facility in 2017 - restoring it to its former glory! Annual maintenance is now carried out to ensure the track remains in excellent condition. 

We know how much this facility is valued by all our parishioners, regardless of their age, as the Council regularly gets correspondence from appreciative users.
