EV Hire Car

Electric Vehicle Adoption

The Parish Council has established a dedicated Climate Emergency Committee to lead its efforts on reducing carbon emissions within the parish with a pledge to make Haddenham carbon neutral by 2030.

EV Car Benefits:

  • Save Money - Swapping a second car for occasional Zimbl hires for work trips, errands, school runs, vet visits, family days out, and so much more has the potential to save significant amounts of money.
  • First time driving an EV - The perfect chance to try before you buy for just £8 per hour.
  • Zero tailpipe emissions - Produces significantly lower carbon emissions with no tailpipe emissions.
  • Convenience - the cars are delivered to and collected from your home
  • Zimbl is free - No charge to join Zimbl, you only pay for the hours and battery you use and each hire comes with 5kW free, which will cover around 15 miles.
  • User help - Every user is given a briefing on the car the first time they use it.
  • Easy to book - Simply register and download the app. All you need is your driving licence and a selfie. Once you have registered and are approved which can take to 24 hours you are ready to book, then you use your phone to unlock and lock the car during your booking.

What makes shared electric mobility work ? - or not?

What makes shared electric mobility in rural areas work – or not? Dr Hannah Budnitz at the Transport Studies Unit, University of Oxford wants to talk to people in Haddenham about the Zimbl service to find out how the shared EVs are being used, why, and what it means to our community. If you’re interested in participating in this research, please follow this link:

EV Car Sharing Survey.

You will be asked for your contact details and to fill in a short survey to determine eligibility and better capture a diversity of local perspectives. Your personal data will never be made publicly available, sold or used for commercial purposes and will be deleted if you choose not to participate.

Your participation can help make the case for widespread rural shared electric mobility that benefits villages across the UK.

Completed surveys receive a voucher from a local retailer as a thank you !
