Grounds Maintenance Update

An agreement has been reached with the Parish Council's existing maintenance contractor to end the grounds maintenance contract early. The contract will now finish at the end of September 2024 rather than at the end of December 2025 as originally agreed.

Following this, the Parish Council will be bringing the contract in-house and establishing our own grounds maintenance team.

We are optimistic that this approach will lead to significant benefits for the village. Managing the grounds maintenance directly will allow us to have full control over the quality and frequency of the service provided. We'll be better able to adapt to bad weather, seasonal changes, and special events, ensuring green spaces are well-maintained year-round. And in the event of issues or concerns, residents will find it easier to report problems and receive prompt solutions without the delays often associated with dealing through third-party contractors.

As with anything, it will take some time to get things up and running in the first instance. There will also be a period of catching up after taking over from the previous contractor. Please be patient with us during this time! We are excited to get started and will be working hard to get our green spaces looking their very best.
