Electric Vehicle Adoption

Electric Vehicle Adoption Working Group

The Electric Vehicle Adoption Working Group aims to reduce the use of petrol and diesel vehicles within the village and promote the use of electric vehicles as an alternative.

We are pleased to say that a public electric vehicle charging point has been installed at the Village Hall car park, with more planned at the Airfield car park.

Unfortunately, the Haddenham Electric Vehicle Hire Club ceased to operate in September 2023 as increased costs meant that the club was unsustainable for our provider. The Parish Council is currently exploring alternative options. See the recent news article for further information.

This page also contains information on financial support for those considering purchasing an electric vehicle.

Financial Support

The government offers grants to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles via the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV).

EV chargepoint grant

The EV chargepoint grant provides funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle smart chargepoints at qualifying properties across the UK. It replaced the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) on 1 April 2022.
