The first signs of the Snakeshead Fritillaries could be seen in the NE corner of the meadow.
It will be worth visiting the reserve to see these during the first two weeks of April.
The daffodils are also providing a wonderful sight.
FOOTPATH TO SNAKEMOOR
Users of the reserve have been noticing that a margin by the hedge has been left in the ploughed field next to Thame Road and hoping that this means that a footpath can be created. The Parish Council has now heard informally that the AVDC will allow a footpath from the station to Snakemoor. This will be parallel to the road and on the field side of the hedge. The next big task will be to raise a considerable sum of money to pay for the path.
28 February 2010 - Good progress has been made.
Some £7000 has been provided or pledged by local groups, industry and councils. An application to Groundwork UK for a grant from the Big Lottery Fund has passed stage 1 of the grant application process. We will now seek stage 2 approval for the substantial funds needed.
