Local Area Forum

Local Area Forums (LAFs ) are a County Council initiative to bring the Town/Parish Councils closer to County and District Councils. It is intended to be a two way exercise between Town/Parish Councils and County/District Councils to let each other know their current position on a whole range of topics.

There are 19 LAFs in Buckinghamshire.

Membership of a LAF consists of County, District, Parish Councillors and other interested parties.

Each LAF has the power to allocate resources on specific items.  Every Parish, District and County Councillor may vote on such allocation.

The functions of LAFs come under three broad headings:-

• Setting priorities for the area.
• Empowered decision making with funding
• Taking action on Community Issues.

Haddenham belongs to the Haddenham and Long Crendon LAF which includes the 15 villages in the geographical area of Bucking shire from Brill to Stone.

The Haddenham and Long Crendon LAF meets quarterly in the Village Halls in the LAF area.
